 You will find me here on a sunny day
lounging beside this meadow
flowers in full bloom, always May…
I love the sun and shade and the scent of the earth, the scent of my own skin, and the taste of honey.
Nothing fazes me here
And I will never budge from this place unless I must.
Yet I hear the sound of the brook…
seducing me as the day warms
This good earth is mine It belongs to me as I belong here
I own it as I own myself
What is there to have or not have?
Smell, taste, feel and then ask: Is it worth it?
Who would toil for less?
Not I. You know what I like and what I don’t To have and hold is what I want
I am dependable, you can count on me.
You know where I’ll be on any day,
it’s always May where I stay.
